Just a reminder, my Bourgogne Master Classes are coming up October 14 & 21 at Cepae in Bellevue. If you are studying for the FWS these classes will be great for you. The cost is far lower than a tasting group session would be (because the wines are mostly subsidized by the BIVB), and the time spent, more informative. We will taste 10 Bourgogne wines in EACH session, ranging from Regional to Grand Cru!

You can register through the eventbrite links in the PDF flyer I posted 2 weeks ago, and use the promo code: TRADE, or pay via venmo and avoid any extra fees. The registration cost to you is $25:
    My Venmo handle is: MorningStarDarling

I hope to see some of you there, or at our Blind Tasting practice November 5th (which you need to privately RSVP for if you want to come).

I think we will do a Sangiovese in Tuscany tasting in early December, but we have to get closer to that time before I can schedule via Doodle poll.

Hi Group. I have a date scheduled for the Semi-Blind Tasting exercise. November 5th from 6-8pm. The location is The Northwest Wine Academy (not in the tasting room, we will be in my classroom this time).

We have a healthy size group, so I estimate the cost of wine split amongst tasters to be about $15. When I get the wines chosen, I will update on that, and folks can send the buy-in via Venmo to me.

New members, please RSVP if you can make it so that I can calculate you into sharing the cost of wine.

    See you soon!

    Hi There,
For those of you who are new to the group, I am the program provider in Washington/Seattle, and also the moderator of this group. I do hope to get back to the tasting group format soon, but I thought you all might be interested in a French Wines Master Class series I am doing this Fall at Cepae Tasting Room in Bellevue. There will be 4 classes before the New Year, 2 on Bourgogne Wines, one on Provence, and on Grower Champagne.

Specifically, the 2 classes on Bourgogne in October, are priced for the trade, and the BIVB imported the wines to e specifically for this event.
You get 8-10 wines, and 2 hours of lecture and tasting for only $29 (- $5 discount offer for you guys only)!

Please see the attached flyer. I am offering FWS students/ you guys a $5 discount on any of these classes, but you will need to simply send me the money through Venmo instead of registering through the Eventbrite link. Please leave a note specifying your registration (and that you are FWS). My Venmo handle is: MorningStarDarling.

I normally wouldn't solicit here, but because I have special pricing on the wines for this series, and sponsorship from the BIVB for the Bourgogne Wines specifically, these classes are much cheaper than even splitting the cost of wine in our tasting group format would be. So, I wanted to extend the invitation, and hope to see you there!

    Hope to see you soon!
    Warmly,
    Tanya

  • Hi Team. Steve from Sydney, Australia. I’m currently undertaking WSET Diploma (bust procrastinating/deferring) my last unit 3. Passed tasting. Having to resit theory (argh).
Thought the FWS would get my head back into a structured routine. Just registered for Fall 2018 instructor led format.

Seems that there is not a lot going on in this group. Lisa Lehar tried to start some communication but no one reflected to it. Lets change that.

To take up Lisas's input I will introduce myself.

I am a wine professional in Denmark near Copenhagen. I import wine and sell wine from all over the world.

I have gone through the WSET program and hold now the level 2 and level 3 certification.

My goal is to have FWS (in progress), SWS, IWS, And all the master programs from France.

    So whats your goals?

Anyone from Denmark by the way?

I had to move the Provence tasting to July 9th, which means we will just move everything back (I didn't get enough RSVPs for the 18th). I have 8 wines, ready to go!
    Date: July 9th
    Time 6-8pm
    Place Northwest Wine Academy

We have enough people to go ahead, so please RSVP to me via email if you would like to confirm a spot, the cost will be calculated after I receive final RSVPs, but it will be under $25 for sure.

Hope to meet you, or see you again on July 9th!
