OK, I had to put the sessions I want to do on the calendar or they wouldn't happen. Unfortunately, I am too busy to operate on consensus scheduling.
Here is my tasting group schedule:
    Monday, June 18 6-8pm - Provence
Monday, July 9 -6-8 Barolo vs. Barbaresco
    Monday, August 6th 6-8pm - Toscano

Because I buy wine based on # of participants, you must RSVP ASAP, and let me know if something happens. about 1-2 weeks before each tasting I buy the wines, announce the cost of the session (based on RSVPs), and request payment via Venmo (which is easy and free). The typical cost is $25-$50, but it totally depends on the size of the group. $50 is the absolute cap, where we postpone for more participants.

Let me know if you would like to join for any of these sessions, and I will put you on that list.
Hope to taste with you this summer!

  • Hey Guys,
Did you ever get together to taste? I have a group, which it might make sense to merge with this group. I plan to revive activity in June/July/August with tastings in Provence, Barolo, and Chianti. I call the group tasting for terroir, and focus on the nuances which cause variation within a single AOC in each session. I'll post here, when I have sessions scheduled, and would love to see you all. I guy wine at wholesale, and distribute the actual cost of wine amongst participants. The sessions I organize are for my own educational obsessions, and to share those with like-minded people, I do not charge at all for what I offer in the sessions.

Wishing some of you in this group lots of luck on your FWS exam this weekend!!
    Cheers!
    Tanya

Hi. I just sat CSW and will be doing FWS and WSET 3 this summer. I really need the group tasting practice. Anything planned for the near future? I am only available on weekends.

  • What is your study process? Any tips for success?

I read through the Learning Objectives before reading a chapter. I read the chapter and highlight things that seem important - ex.. firsts, largest, biggest producer...etc. Then I go through the online tutorial, and investigate questions I get wrong on the quizzes. My next step is the chapter exam, which helps me focus further studying. I'll go back over the materials and take notes and write essays on the learning objectives to make sure I know the information.

    Happy Monday all,
    Lisa
