For 120 Euro, we'll get to taste wines 30 to 40 years old from some of the top appellations. I'll need three more people for this tasting due to the cost of opening old wines which will not keep beyond the tasting. (see the link below for details, scroll down to section "Vintage Experience Tour"
I would probably be interested if we can get the requisite minimum of 4 people. Two questions:
1) Can we do this "standalone" ? (The website says, of this tasting, "when COMBINED with our Grand Premier tour or our Gourmet Grand Premier tour". CAPS are mine, to clarify my question.)
2) Would it be offered on June 7, this being over the Pentecost weekend, when I think lots of folks take holiday?
Thanks for the reply. Answer to your questions. Yes, I've confirmed with Burgundy Discovery that Mon Millesime opens Saturday, June 7 and we can do just the tasting part without the tour. I realized it might be difficult to find another 3 people to do the tasting, so I went ahead making reservations to visit some of the negociants in Beaune. Here is my itinerary for June 7:
10:00 am - Maison Louis Jadot, tour of the winery followed by a tasting, cost: free. Address: 62, Route de Savigny, Beaune
2:30 pm - Joseph Drouhin, tour of the cellar plus tasting of the 6 wines, cost: 35€. Address: 1 cour du Parlement de Bourgogne
4:00 pm - Bouchard Père & Fils, visit of the cellar, followed by a tasting of 6 wines (village & premier in red and white), cost: 19€. Address: Château de Beaune
Would you like to join me? The appointments are all confirmed. I'll just have to email them to let them I'll be bringing a guest.
Yes, I'd love to join you at the negociant visits on June 7. If you would be so kind as to let them know there will be another person, that would be great!
Thanks for doing that!
I will arrive at the Hotel Ibis Styles Beaune Centre around 9:30pm on Fri June 6th
