Tom Fiorina, an American journalist-turned marketer-turned French œnologist, writes about French wine and winemakers on his blog The Vine Route. I discovered French wine when I moved to France in 1990. My blog explores the place that wine holds in French culture, tradition, history and gastronomy. Mostly, I write about lesser-known wine appellations in southwestern France, but I have also written six wine-tourism guides about Corsica. In 2012, after two years of studies at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Agronomique de Toulouse, I became one of the few Americans to obtain France’s highest wine diploma, the Diplôme National d’Œnolgue (DNO).
