As a wine lover, you know that there is much to learn about wine. One of the fastest and most enjoyable ways to do this is by taking a wine tour and going directly to the source. Important wine notions such as terroir, appellations or winemaking methods become so much easier to understand when one experiences and learns about them first-hand.
Our wine tours also provide opportunities to taste an extensive number of wines during our visits at the wineries and meals. This will help improve your wine tasting skills during the tastings led by the tour instructor and the wine producers themselves.
Visit both iconic and below the radar estates
Meeting the local winemakers is also a real highlight for our wine tour participants. On previous trips, groups have met the winemakers at renowned estates such as Champagne Dom Perignon or Chateau Cheval Blanc in Bordeaux, for example. These are unique opportunities that wine enthusiasts will always remember.
Producers visited during past study trips include:
Visiting iconic wine regions gives a face to the wines on your wine list and provide anecdotes and vivid memories that you can share with your customers. This helps bring legitimacy and confidence when selling your wines. A key aspect of the trip is eating at fabulous local restaurants and pairing the meal with fine wines of the region. These pairings can also prove to be a real inspiration for you when you are back home.
“I thought the itinerary was excellent. Every chateau brought an amazing experience. It was nice that you had a variety of producers that used different methods/equipment so that there were new things to discover as we went along (if every winery tour was the same it would have been horribly redundant so we appreciated that). All the restaurants were amazing. We never had a bad meal that is for sure. Mary also did a phenomenal job managing all the details. -Karen Aspinall, wine enthusiast
