French Wine Scholar: Applications now open for wine educators

The Wine Scholar Guild welcomes new educators and program providers to teach the French Wine Scholar study & certification program around the world.

FWS Instructor Certification Schedule:

  • Accepted educators will have acces to the next French Wine Scholar program scheduled to begin June 4th 2019 and will run for 15 weeks
  • Live review webinars will be hosted every other Tuesday at 12:00 noon EST and are recorded for on-demand replay
  • The goal is set to achieving instructor certification by September 2019.

The wine educator application period is now open for the next live, online session. Educator registration closes April 30th.

An application form will be emailed to you shortly after submitting your request. Access to the program's pre-launch will be open to a limited number of wine educators selected by the Wine Scholar Guild among all applicants. Applicants will be informed of whether or not their application has been accepted by May 10th.

Educators whose applications are accepted enjoy a discounted admission fee for the program.

Who can apply:

Application is open to all qualified wine educators from all over the world who are either affiliated with a wine school or training staff in a wine related business.

About the French Wine Scholar program:

The French Wine Scholar™ Study and Certification program provides current, accurate and in-depth information on the wines and wine regions of France. 

Developed and administrated by the Wine Scholar Guild with the support of the French Ministry of Agriculture, this specialization program is designed for advanced students of wine, whether professionals or serious wine hobbyists.

Students who follow this in-depth curriculum and pass the exam will earn the French Wine Scholar™ (FWS) post-nominal (e.g. John Smith, FWS).
