The French Wine Scholar program widened my learning of all French wine regions, and built on already broadly-acquired knowledge from completing the Diploma in Wines and Spirits. With the Italian Wine Scholar course also completed, I am looking very much forward to the Spanish Wine Scholar!

I learned a lot and it absolutely did its job in helping me learn more about French Wines. I don't know if I passed or not, but I'm already drinking great wines at low prices because I know what to look for!

The French Wine Scholars program was the most prepared, informative and resourceful wine course I have ever taken. It was not easy but it was fair challenge!

This is a very good programme for serious wine enthusiasts looking to further their wine education beyond WSET Level 3 but who can't commit to the full Diploma programme. Highly recommended.

The French Wine Scholar program was a joyful learning experience. We explored deeply each and every region of France, and we tasted wines from all the regions, including wines from lesser-known regions such as Savoie, Jura and Corsica. Overall, it was much more challenging than I had anticipated and anyone who passes this exam should be proud of their accomplishment. The FWS postscript is meaningful!

The FWS program has been a great way for me to revisit the classic regions, and to further explore the heritage and value offered by lesser known areas. It has added depth and breadth of knowledge of industry trends and changes in French wine law. It certainly will be beneficial to my ongoing WSET Diploma studies.

Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful course. I am still impressed by how seamlessly your in-depth curriculum was delivered to me (both in my classroom & online) in such a sensible, yet engaging format. Mr. Neptune was/is simply fantastic at bringing your program to life and Mrs. Airey’s online lectures the really cemented the content for me. The FWS Program was truly an educational delight.

Great course. Helped me learn about France, its regional viticulture and a very good overview of all the French wines in 8 weeks time. It really got me interested in France as a country and its culture and the depth of variety that exists in terms of wine. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in gaining a head start in wines.

A comprehensive course on French wines with an excellent online base, along with a well composed text book. Materials were all well written in a manner that was interesting and easy to understand. This coupled with great wines to taste made this course one of the most interesting and enjoyable wine courses I have attended.

The French Wine Scholar study manual is really terrific! You should be really proud of it. I have learned six dozens things from it… As a matter of fact, I’m including many of the things I learned into my own presentations on France. I can’t wait to pass the exam and teach the program to our staff.

The French Wine Scholar program, and all of the programs offered by the Wine Scholar Guild, is the best, most comprehensive course of study for French wine, bar none. The program is well thought out and presented. Anyone wanting to learn about French wines needs to take this program; there is no better program out there.

If you are a professional in the wine business looking to enhance your career this is the program for you. Great instructors easy to follow study guide and 24 hour internet access.
    5 1 5 Heather Gholson, FWS
The French Wine Scholar Program gives an excellent foundation to approach wine lists with confidence and enjoy great food and wine pairings, like the French do! As a consumer, I can now go through the aisles of a fine wine store and understand exactly what is behind those French wine labels. I highly recommend the course to wine enthusiasts who would like an insider\'s knowledge of the wines of France. You\'ll be planning your next trip to one of the wine regions you study!
    5 1 5 Nava Ramesh
The FWS Program is a very in-depth serious program for the wine professional or enthusiast. There is no other program like it and attaining the qualification should be a highly recognized achievement.
    5 1 5 Maura O'Brien, FWS
The program is excellent. It differs in format from many classes taught in that there is a real effort to give context to the regions through discussion of history as well as soils, topography, climate and grapes from each region. The class is not producer driven, but is terroir driven, and teaches students about France as a whole as well as the specific regions.
    5 1 5 Janice Kraynok
The online academy reinforced the study guide and added another perspective to my study plan. I felt as though the study guide and the online academy complemented each other in a way that made it easier to learn: if you are a visual person, the book covered everything. If you are an aural person, the online modules worked well.
    5 1 5 Brian K. Christ, FWS
The manual is very well laid out with pertinent information that goes beautifully hand in hand with the online program. It has given me a new appreciation and understanding of French wine. In fact, I am trying to use the information not only in my profession, but to add to my tasting experiences as well by purchasing a bottle from as many of the different AOC\'s as well! An excellent learning tool through and through. For anyone wanted to start a base knowledge and work their way to a rather thorough understanding of French wine and its laws, AOC\'s and characteristics of the wines themselves, this course has it all. Highly recommended for both newcomers and well seasoned wine students alike.
    5 1 5 Kevin Lee, FWS
Anyone with the slightest interest in learning more about French history, wine making techniques, terroir (and tasting world class wine through a program provider) should sign up - my understanding, appreciation and love of French wine has certainly increased since taking the course!
