About Danielle:
''I’m a wine enthusiast with the goal of someday becoming a wine educator. I would love to own a wine store that hosts tastings and has classes in the evenings someday. I started taking wine courses online from Wine Spectator magazine about 10 years ago and since the first wine tasting I did with friends at home I’ve been taking classes, tasting wines and visiting wine regions. I’ve visited my closest wine region which is in the Okanagan in Canada, and I’ve also visited wineries in California, Italy and Corsica. Right now I’m a stay-at-home mom, so I’m using this time to enjoy wine studies.
I am currently enrolled in the Provence Master-Level program and the Rhone Master-Level program. I have certificates for WSET Level 3, CSW (Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators), Italian Wine Specialist from the North American Sommelier Association and French Wine Scholar.
I have always been interested in the Alsace wine region since I really enjoy the wine that I’ve tasted from that area of France. After taking the French Wine Scholar program and learning more about the Master-Level programs that were available, I thought it would be a great opportunity to learn more about Alsace. The detail of the program guide and the informative webinars were excellent and have really inspired me to continue learning more about French wine.
I would like to take the Certified Wine Educator certificate and become a wine educator. One of the main reasons that I am taking the Master-Level courses through the Wine Scholar Guild is to build upon my current knowledge of French wine so that I am better prepared to share with others who are just learning about wine. Of course, I am happy to take the courses to satisfy my own curiosity about different wine regions and they add to my personal enjoyment when sharing a glass of wine with friends and family.''
