Albert Sheen, Champagne ML

Congratulations to Albert Sheen for passing the Champagne Master Level exam with highest honors!

About Albert:

I was a casual wine drinker for many years. I had subscriptions to Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate, but I didn’t start taking my wine studies seriously until a few years ago. I started taking course at the Wine House in Los Angeles and I was hooked! I try to attend as many tasting events in Los Angeles as I can.

I took the WSET Levels 1, 2 and 3 courses, and am currently enrolled in the WSET Diploma course. I also completed the French Wine Scholar course. The Champagne ML program was an excellent way to build upon my French Wine Scholar knowledge. It followed a similar format to the French Wine Scholar, but went more in-depth into the specifics of the Champagne region.

After I complete my WSET Diploma in Summer 2019, I also plan to enroll in the Italian Wine Scholar and Spanish Wine Scholar courses. I will be attending the Wine Scholar Guild study trips to the Loire and Alsace this year, and afterwards I plan to take the Loire ML and Alsace ML exams. Having taken the Champagne ML exam, I now know the level of detail and knowledge that the ML programs require. This knowledge will help me when I prepare for the Loire ML and Alsace ML exams.

The Champagne ML course has given me advanced knowledge of Champagne that I can use as I buy and taste Champagne going forward. The Champagne ML program will also be useful when I pursue my Master of Wine credential at some point.
