Congratulations to Alejandro Palma, FWS, for achieving highest honors in the French Wine Scholar exam!
I have been working as a Wine Ambassador for the Grupo Cordovez CVL, Ecuador’s main wine importer. My main functions as part of this company include communicating, teaching, and spreading knowledge and information about different kinds of wines to our direct clients as well as the final consumer, and this way, we promote wine culture in our country. Some of my other functions are to periodically verify the style, level of quality, potential for aging and readiness for consumption within our wines. In the future, I aspire to become a credible wine consultant, as well as begin to write my own reviews, specifically on France: Champagne, Bordeaux, Bourgogne.
I have completed WSET 3. FWS, has proven to be a fantastic tool to augment my knowledge and attention to detail when it comes to French wines. The methodology of the course, the knowledge of the instructors, and the historic component associated with each region allow for a complete and integral understanding of the topic. Without a doubt, one of my next steps in this field is going to be achieving the master level in Champagne, Burgundy, and Bordeaux. Currently, I am in the SWS instructor led program and so far, the experience is just as enriching.
I would like to congratulate and highlight the work of the WSG for offering tools to both enthusiasts and professionals so they can stay up to date in this very dynamic industry through their study programs, member webinars, and series like “Science of Wine Tasting”.
Life is made up of small moments, and I celebrate this one in particular with great satisfaction.
