Congratulations to Brianna Burns, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!
I am definitely a wine enthusiast! I found my interest in wine in college and it really grew from there. I decided to follow my passion for wine from amateur wine blogger/taster to wine bar and retail store manager and now on to wine educator and traveler. I feel like I’ve experienced many sectors of the industry and it has only deepened my love of wine. I currently am an educator for the WSET certifications and the French Wine Scholar course at Vitis House and I own a business dedicated to traveling and wine adventures. I would love to be the next Rick Steves!
I passed my Diploma in Wine and Spirits from the WSET in 2019 and truly believe in lifetime education. I took the FWS course and really enjoyed the depth of information while staying relevant to the student. The FWS has definitely added to my wine knowledge and shown a different way of presenting the information that I found both easy to understand and helpful when teaching others. I had so much fun with the FWS that I’ve signed up for the Champagne Master-Level course, plan on taking the Alsace-Master Level course and will in the future also complete the IWS and SWS. I can’t wait to dive in! One can never learn absolutely everything about wine as it is constantly changing so continuous study is what I look forward to in the future.
The FWS has reignited my desire to finally become fluent in French! I’ve also been buying wine from specific French regions to remember and taste all the fun styles out there. The FWS will certainly further my passion and career moving forward by being able to educate others and hopefully attending one of the Master-level trips when we’re able to get overseas again.
