Congratulations to Carol Morris, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!
I am definitely a wine enthusiast! It started when I attended culinary school in New York City back in 1992. As part of the culinary program, there was a six-week course on wines of the world. The chef instructor was passionate about wine and brought that passion into the classroom. That's when I fell in love with the romance, history, art and science of making wine. My love affair with wine continues to grow!
I completed WSET levels 1, 2 and 3 (with Distinction) in 2020. I thoroughly enjoyed the WSET courses, they provided me with an excellent foundation in wine education and the wine regions of the world.
The French Wine Scholar program was a perfect accompaniment to the WSET courses. With the solid backbone I received with WSET, I felt equipped to dive deep into the specific area of the world that interests me the most - France! The FWS course was very challenging; however, I absolutely enjoyed immersing myself in the details, intricacies and complexities of the french wine regions. My goal now is to travel to the wine regions that I've spent hours and hours studying!
In fact, I enjoyed the French Wine Scholar program so much that I plan to enroll in the Master Level programs, starting with Bordeaux and Bourgogne.
I am excited about using my FWS experience to pursue a career in wine education. In 2022, I am going to work towards starting a business of my own as a wine educator. The knowledge and skills I learned with FWS will give me the confidence needed to jump into an exciting career revolving around wine!
