Congratulations to Chris Wadden, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!

About Chris:

I am an enthusiast and a professional. I have made and sold my own wine made at a custom crush facility and been active in wine education with an emphasis on matching with food for non-profits and corporations. I have a nice cellar that I indulge in and always share my wine with friends. I am the guy that people email or call when they are throwing a dinner party or event.

I have a CSW from the society of wine educators and have taken various classes over the years. I made, marketed and sold Pinot Noir from the Russian River valley and San Lucia Highlands for several years. I have also taught wine with an emphasis on matching with food (I’m a trained chef) for non-profits and corporations for many years. I have been fortunate to travel extensively and have visited most of the worlds’ well known wine regions including an FWS trip to Bordeaux with Andrew Jefford a couple of years ago.

I’m currently enrolled in the Spanish Wine Scholar course and enjoying it immensely. I believe the depth of the WSG courses really help me better understand the world of wine.

Hopefully I’ll make another trip to France soon and really explore the wines and the regions with my added knowledge. I’m hoping to do a deep dive in Rhone wines soon and have friends who I regularly taste with who have excellent Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhone cellars.
