Congratulations to David Larsson, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!

About David:

I am a wine enthusiast living in Sweden and I have had a special interest in French wine for about 8 years. I have spent time in several French wine regions while on vacation. A few years ago my wife and I spent about a month volunteer working with a small producer in Le-Puy-Notre-Dame, and we really fell in love with the Loire Valley.

French Wine Scholar was my first formal wine education program. Before I started the program I thought myself to already have quite a good knowledge on French wine. However I was very impressed with the study material, which, being very well structured and informative, really helped me to categorize and deepen my knowledge. I feel like French Wine Scholar has given me a comprehensive understanding of the different wine regions of France (even the more obscure ones). In addition I felt I really progressed in my wine tasting skills during the program. I have already looked at possibly taking the Italian Wine Scholar or Spanish Wine Scholar program. I will definitely continue using my newfound knowledge and skills back home as I have recently joined a local wine society. I'm also very much looking forward to applying my knowledge in practice on our next trip to France this summer!
