Flemmich Webb, FWS

Congratulations to Flemmich Webb, FWS for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with the honors, with the Sussex Wine School in UK!
About Flemmich:
''It all began with a Christmas present: a voucher for an Introduction to Wine course at Sussex Wine School in the UK. Under the expert tutelage of Jonny Gibson, who runs the school, I found a passion for wine that I didn’t know existed. I became swept up in the heady blend of social history, geology, agriculture, chemistry, meteorology and, of course, the taste of wine itself. I kept learning and kept tasting until finally Jonny took me on as a wine tutor for Sussex Wine School – a job I do whenever I can in my spare time (I have another full-time job). Where do I want to take my wine study? I’m not sure where it is going to take me but right now I am enjoying the journey so much that I have not given much thought to the destination. Sometimes it’s just good to go with the flow (of wine!).
I have WSET 2 and 3. The FWS was an excellent way to go into France in more detail – in a way that WSET 3 does not. My challenge now is to keep remembering what I learnt and then to think about the next course. I am tempted by the Italian course next! Then, who knows? Diploma perhaps?
FWS has given me a really in-depth knowledge of French wine, which is invaluable for my wine tutoring. It has given me the confidence that I can absorb and remember detailed wine knowledge, and is has helped me realize that actually the world of wine gets more interesting, the deeper you go.''
