About Fred:
"I have been a passionate consumer of wine for many years. I became interested in the technical aspects of wine following a number of trips to California wine areas. After retiring from a 33 year career in IT at ExxonMobil I became serious about learning about wine and the wine business. I completed level 1 the Court of Master Sommeliers level 1, the WSET level 3, and CSW. They provided broad, general knowledge, but they also whetted my appetite for more in-depth knowledge about the most important wine region in the world: France.
French Wine Scholar was the logical source for diving deeply into French Wine. While pursuing this education, I also began a second career in the wine business, first working in distribution and now working with a retail wine shop (Envy Wine Room, in Spring Tx) consulting on wine selection and giving classes. Going forward, I would like to share my knowledge and passion with others by giving more classes.I also plan to further expand my wine knowledge with additional offerings from the Wine Scholar Guild, including Italian Wine Scholar, Spanish Wine Scholar and some of the Master-Level programs."
