Congrats to Jade Hallett, FWS for having passed the French Wine Scholar exam with the highest honors, with the Art Institute of Vancouver in Canada!
About Jade:
''I would consider myself both a wine enthusiast and a wine professional. My passion began at a young age - after I finished University and was working in a local wine shop I realized I was in love with the industry. I moved to Vancouver from the Okanagan to pursue a career focused around wine. After a few years I successfully completed my WSET 1,2,3 and was working as a sales representative for one of Canada’s largest agencies. I plan to continue my professional studies and grow strong in my position in sales. Management would seem like a logical step, but I am also interested in wine production. I am young so the opportunities are endless.
As mentioned above, I have successfully completed WSET 1,2,3. I felt the FWS was a fantastic and in-depth look at a section of the wine industry most people would find challenging. It has definitely given me more confidence when talking about French wines and culture!
I have plans to eventually complete my Diploma. I have heard from people who have or are doing the Diploma that the FWS gives a huge advantage.
I think the confidence to talk about and describe French wine and culture to others will set me apart from the competition. I feel even more passion for the culture and look forward to traveling and experiencing France and the wine regions there one day.''
