About John:
My passion and enthusiasm for wine started totally by accident! I ended up on the graduate retail scheme of a major wine store chain in the UK after university. They put me through the WSET Level 3, which alongside passionate people, sparked an interest. I got involved in the customer tasting and staff training side. I really enjoyed helping people discover and learn about wine, so decided to set up my own wine school.
I have the WSET Wine and Spirits Diploma and am a Certified Educator teaching WSET Levels 1-3. I am an Official Sherry Wines Educator, having visited Jerez 2 years ago as a guest of the Consejo Regulador. I have also recently become a Certified Sake Educator with the Sake Sommelier Association, and am off to Japan early February to undertake their advanced course which will mean getting involved in the making of Sake!
I have just started studying the brand new Spanish Wine Scholar qualification, and am really looking forward to adding deeper knowledge of the wine regions and culture of Spain.
I am excited to become an Approved Programme Provider for the Wine Scholar Guild in Manchester, and will be offering their courses to other passionate wine lovers soon!
