Hi. My name is Kang H.S and I am a Journalist in S.Korea. Wine is my precious hobby that gives me a passion and energy. I’ve tried a lot of wines since my 20’s, but these experiences were ‘just drink’. Nothing remains. I always need a kind of professional and academic knowledge about wine. Your program FWS gives me so much information and professional knowledge about French wine.
I passed WSET lv3 with distinction, and it was amazing experience for me. Knowledge about so many wine regions, climates, wine style and etc…it was like a travel all around the world! But one of desired things is information about specific wine regions.(WSET lv3 is focused on the wide and general things about wine.) I felt a kind of thirst and needed more but unfortunately WSET lv3 is the highest wine program in S.Korea. In this situation, FWS is a really good alternative.
I read the main material (textbook) so many times and translated it in my language every single day. It was hard work but effective. At first, it took at least 20~30 min to translate but it was getting faster. When I finished the translation, a kind of framework about French wine was made, but it was not enough. I solved all the short questions on FWS website and tried them 2~3 times. In fact, so many similar questions were set on real examination.
Now I am taking the IWS course and it is a kind of challenge. But with the experience with FWS, I have confidence. I’m not sure I will get highest honors again due to so many varieties, but I'm doing my best.
