Congratulations to Michael Wilson, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!

About Michael:

I am a wine enthusiast. This passion began a few years ago. It evolved over time from mead and fruit home wine making to Vitis vinifera grape wine. To increase my knowledge base I started taking wine classes and then progressed again. Classes and learning started as a means to an end but became the end. Now I wish take it further. I hope to one day to progress to other wine classes so that I might one day teach as well.

I have taken Wine Spirit and Education Trust (WSET) up to level 3. The FWS built on my previous knowledge base but significantly and greatly improved upon it. The vast diversity of wine regions and their unique terroirs and specialized grapes and wines was a leap far above the WSET 3.

I am currently enrolled in the American Wine expert online, the Provence Master level class, and the Rioja wine region. I plan on enrolling in the other French master wine regions in the future. I also plan on taking the Italian and Spanish Wine scholar programs in the future. Also I plan on taking the Certified Specialist in Wine (CSW) and later the Certified Wine Educator(CWE). The FWS provided a solid and very strong foundation for  the French specific wine regions, the CSW, and the CWE. While these exams are certainly very intensive exams to prepare for, the FWS will make a small portion of the CSW and CWE exams much easier to prepare for.
