About Samantha:
I worked in the NYC restaurant industry for over a decade but made the switch to retail last year during the pandemic shutdown. Working in a different side of the industry has been fun and really given me a lot of opportunities to expand my wine knowledge and of course practice tasting :)
I started studying wine seriously two years ago when I enrolled with CMS. However, once Covid-19 hit, all testing was suspended leaving me craving wine education even more. Then I found the Wine Scholar Guild and could not sign up fast enough!! The FWS program was everything I was looking for and then some. I’m hoping to sign up for an immersion trip once travel resumes! I’ve also decided to sign up for the Society of Wine Educators certification program to continue my education and eventually be able to teach and mentor others on their wine journeys.
The FWS program has given me enormous confidence in my knowledge of wine and my ability to better serve guests. I can’t wait to continue my education and eventually reach my ultimate goal of becoming a wine educator.
