Congratulations to Szilvia Herbak, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!

About Szilvia:

I love the world of wine; what began as a hobby 3 years ago, has quickly become my passion. Now I am contemplating a complete career change!

While tirelessly tasting and travelling to discover the uniqueness of each wine region, I am searching for answers as to `why` and `how` the same grape can taste so different when grown in other parts of the world while expressing such complexity of aromas and flavours and what dishes are best enjoyed with them.
I share my passion for wine and gastronomy by delivering private tastings and will soon be launching WSET certified wine education backed with my sommelier certification.

Back in 2016 I began studying with the AIS (Italian Sommelier Association) in London and became a certified Sommelier. During the following year I completed the prestigious WSET Level 3 training.

Last summer I spent six weeks journeying in France and exploring 5 wine regions. This hands-on experience gave me the inspiration and encouragement to enrol in the FWS programme.

The Wine Scholar Guild French Wine Scholar formation is the most challenging course I’ve undertaken. It was both hard and very comprehensive, and I am very proud to be amongst the successful graduates.

I am always eager to continue with my professional development and personal journey of discovery.
I am currently training to become a WSET certified wine educator - and of course this builds on all the amazing knowledge that I have acquired during the FWS programme.

By completing the FWS program and speaking fluent French I feel empowered to carry on with my discovery in the world of wine and to extend my private wine tastings to wine tourism with personalised bespoke wine trips to France and beyond; discovering hidden gems of lesser known regions, combined with gastronomy and art for wine amateurs and enthusiasts alike.
