About István:
I have been a wine professional for some years now and am the owner and general manager of a wine-based ‘portfolio’ in Hungary. This includes two online wine magazines, a WSET APP wine school, an online wine shop and numerous regular wine tasting events. My main aim is to improve my everyday performance in the wine business
I am currently devoting a lot of time to my wine studies. I have already passed the WSG Champagne master program and am now preparing to take the WSG Spanish Wine Scholar exam. In addition, I am studying for the WSET Diploma at their London Wine School, for the Online Certificate in Wine Business Management at the Sonoma State University and the online American Wine Expert course at the Napa Valley Academy. Moreover, I plan to enrol for the WSG Italian Wine Scholar Unit 1 and 2 (15-week instructor-led format) in fall 2020. Besides my wine qualifications, I have a masters in economic sciences, faculty of finance and accounting, and an MSc in Law.
The French Wine Scholar program has helped me better understand the French wine regions, different wine categories and styles, and their historical and economic background. I was able to supplement what I had already learned about France in the WSET Diploma program and am now able to better see the big picture. The FWS program has also motivated me to enroll in the other six master programs (Loire, Alsace, Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Rhone and Provence).
