About Trina

I am the founder of Wine Tasting Malaysia, a wine group founded in 2015.  To date we have over 3000 members and have organized more than 100 wine events for the group as well as corporate clients.  We positioned ourself as a wine event specialist and a wine group for wine lovers, focusing on educating while tasting.

My first exposure to wine was during my profession as a Sales Manager for JF Hillebrand, a global liquid logistics player.  Being in the wine and spirit division, I was in constant contact with the wine industry player and their dedication to wines, inspired me to pursue the wine knowledge further.
 
Before starting Wine Tasting Malaysia, I took the opportunity to take up both trade certification from CIVB - Counseil  Interpersonnel Vin de Bordeaux and BIVB - Bureau Interpersonnel Vin de Bourgogne.

As the COVID-19 pandemic broke out last year in Malaysia, all wine tasting events came to a halt and with much time at hand, I made a decision to take up the FWS as a way to enhance my French wine knowledge as well as to establish myself as a Wine Influencer in Malaysia.
 
My next journey would be to take up the Spanish Wine Scholar Certification (SWS).  One of the reasons is because I hold a Spanish language certificate from the universidad de Salamanca and secondly, I think it would be great to discover the under rated Spanish wines as well.  When this is done, I plan to move on to do CSW.

With the FWS, I would be using the knowledge learned, to come out with interesting contents for the Wine Tasting Malaysia Facebook page as well as Wine Wine Wine Facebook group.  A YouTube channel focusing on learning wine, the Frenchtastic way is also in the pipeline.  With the loosening of the SOP for CMCO in Malaysia, I’m looking forward to organizing more French wine events especially on how the wines would fare with the local Malaysian cuisine.
