About Vanessa:
I have been a wine enthusiast ever since my father and I spent two weeks in France when I was a college student. My first glass of wine was a Beaujolais Villages in an outdoor café in Lyon! I have taken wine classes for many years, most recently through Twin Cities Wine Education. I have enjoyed a wonderful career in music and higher education, and might even enjoy a small second or retirement job in wine someday.
I became a Certified Specialist in Wine (CSW) through the Society for Wine Educators in 2016, an American Wine Expert (AWE) through the Napa Valley Wine Academy in 2017, and passed the FWS exam in 2018. My next course of study will be the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines. The FWS helped me to expand deepen my understanding of French wines, especially in regions I had not previously studied (i.e. Jura, Savoie, Corsica)! My favorite French wines come from Loire and Alsace.
