I am a wine enthusiast/hobbyist whose passion has only intensified with the FWS program. I immensely enjoyed the program's layout, intensity and focus. It was very thorough and I feel much more confident in my French wine knowledge. Thank you Lisa, Sharon and Julien for a very enjoyable learning experience. I found the content engaging and the combination of webinars, quizzes and the attractive manual a surefire key to retaining knowledge.

I am currently pursuing the WSET Level 4 Diploma program and I know the FWS knowledge I have accrued will definitely help with my pursuit especially the massive Unit 3 which covers ‘Light Wines of the World’.
I also passed the Court of Master Sommeliers’ Introductory course and I am planning on taking the Certified Sommelier exam in the next year.
In the next few weeks I will be signing up for the Italian Wine Scholar [IWS] program and the Spanish Wine Scholar [SWS] thereafter. I hope to take these 2 programs before I embark on the WSET Diploma’s Unit 3. My goal is to then specialize in a specific region.


Moving forward, I am hoping to translate this knowledge and passion into a wine lifestyle, encompassing teaching, traveling and writing. Being a part of a wine tasting meetup with other enthusiasts has been an exciting pastime as I pursue my studies and passion. The intersection of wine, food and culture has enriched my life in so many ways. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the ‘food traditions’ section that accompanied each region really piqued my epicurean interests. I find myself seeking out the food items and especially the cheeses to accompany the various regional wines. In the words of Ernest Hemingway: “A person with increasing knowledge and sensory education may derive infinite enjoyment from wine.”
