Congrats to Hope Shiverick, FWS for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors.
Hope is Sales Director with Langdon Shiverick Imports.
''I started working for my father’s company, Langdon Shiverick Imports, quite recently, on March 1st of this year. Before joining the team at LSI, I worked for the Henry Wine Group, first as an intern, then a broad market sales representative, and finally, as the Los Angeles District Manager.
When I was 17 years old, I worked for Lee Hudson (of Hudson Vineyards) in Carneros, which truly inspired me to commit to the wine industry. I studied Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis (class of 2012), and throughout my college summers, I staged at both Morrell and Co. in New York as a sales intern, and in the cave at Domaine Jean-Louis Chave in Mauves, France
I passed my WSET Level 3 Advanced in 2014 with distinction. The FWS program allowed me to dig a bit deeper into the French wine world, and truly master the individual AOC’s and specificities of each geographical region.
I hope to enter the WSET Diploma program in the future, and I believe the FWS program created a valuable basis of French wine knowledge.
I believe the FWS program allowed me to create a strong basis of French wine knowledge. As I taste more from the specific regions, my understanding of climate, topography, geology, history, and AOC regulations will only help me to further appreciate and respect French wines.''
