Congratulations to Carla Urrunaga, IWS, SWS, for passing both the Italian Wine Scholar and Spanish Wine Scholar exams with highest honors!

About Carla:

I have been dedicated for almost 6 years to share, communicate, and teach in a happy, simple, and professional way about the world of Wine and sensory appreciation.

This path captivated me so much that I formed my online school: La Academia del Vino ((@la_academiadelvino), of which I am currently the director, and which has allowed me to connect with wine lovers from different countries. At the same time, I work as a communicator and organizer of wine events, teacher in some professional institutes and part of the Catad’Or World Wine Awards jury.

I was fully introduced to the world of wine thanks to the blog: “Chezcarlita Gastronomy and Wines” where I would upload photos and share recipes. Soon many people began to follow me and ask me questions related to wine. To give adequate answers, I began to study ... a lot! So , here we are!

My certifications are:
Certified WSET Level 2 with Distinction
Certified WSET Level 3 with Merit
Italian Wine Scholar with Highest Honors
Spanish Wine Scholar with Highest Honors

Doing the IWS was a great professional challenge for me.  As English is not my native language, it was a little more difficult but the great quality of the content and my love for Italian wines, made the experience  really good and I recommend it.  The course is not only focused on wine but it introduces us into the culture and history of the country which made me appreciate it even more.

The SWS was then my second experience.  The course widely met my expectations and I hope to be able to carry out the FWS soon. Also I am subscribed to the webinars so that one does not stop learning.
