Congratulations to István Tábor, IWS, for passing the Italian Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!
About István:
I have been a wine professional for some years now and am the owner and general manager of a wine-based ‘portfolio’ in Hungary. This includes two online wine magazines, a WSET APP wine school, an online wine shop and numerous regular wine tasting events. My main aim is to improve my everyday performance in the wine business.
I am currently devoting a lot of time to my wine studies. I have already passed the WSG Champagne master, French Wine Scholar and Spanish Wine Scholar programs. I have also passed the American Wine Expert (AWE) exam at the Napa Valley Academy and Certified Specialist of Wine at the Society of Wine Educators. In addition, I am studying for the WSET Diploma at their London Wine School and for the Online Certificate in Wine Business Management at the Sonoma State University. Besides my wine qualifications, I have a masters in economic sciences, faculty of finance and accounting, and an MSc in Law.
The Italian Wine Scholar program has really helped me discover Italy as a wine-producing country. Italy has a long history and numerous indigenous grape varieties, the majority of which are directly linked to one administrative region or province. It was a wonderful journey to progress step by step through the 20 regions and their tremendous DOCs, DOCGs and IGTs. Now I have the trifecta (French, Spanish and Italian Wine Scholar) certification, I am much more confident in progressing with my wine studies. Now it is time to complete all the WSG Master level programs!
