Congratulations to Pablo S Fernandez, IWS, for passing the Italian Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!

About Pablo:

I’m from Florianópolis, Brazil.  I worked for 15 years with greenfield projects in the energy sector (including projects with the Italian ENEL Green Power). But, in 2019, I decided to take a break, and I took a sabbatical. On this sabbatical, after driving 13,000 kilometers across Italy, I finally found my real passion and understood my purpose in life. So I decided to follow my passion for the Bel Paese and turn this love into my professional work. With the pandemic, I began my education in wine, quickly making several certificates (Professional Sommelier, WSET Level 3). In 2022 I started my studies for the WSET Diploma. Also, in 2022, I became an Italian Wine Ambassador at the Vinitaly International Academy program, London class. Also, in 2022 I started consulting, mentoring, tastings, and classes for oenophiles in Brazil with the Italian wine & culture project, beboitalia (beboitalia.com, @beboitalia). I also write about wines for the website southamericawineguide.com (in English) and vinhosunica.com.br (Portuguese).

I have a WSET L3 certification and am currently on WSET Diploma in Wines. Also, I’m a professional Sommelier. The IWS program set a solid foundation to advance my education on Italian wines (and culture). The material is excellent!

As I mentioned, I’m on the challenging WSET Diploma certification. Indeed, it will help me with the D3 module (Wines of The World) and D4 (Sparkling). And it did help me with my performance at the Vinitaly International Academy Ambassador program.

IWS has helped me immensely, especially with the Vinitaly International Academy program and exams. It helped me to build the background to try this challenging certification in Italian Wines. Also, the books and the instructor at the IWS are excellent. I’m very grateful for the material and deep knowledge the program gives us. Now I founded a company to teach Italian wine & culture here in Brazil (and help Italian wineries to establish here). I’m excited about the possibilities ahead.
