Congratulations Jeffrey Theriault, FWS for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors with our program provider in Victoria BC.
''I developed a passion for wine after I had started working as a server in the hospitality industry. Specifically, I was learning how the wine program can complement the food menu to create a pleasurable experience for my guests. My enthusiasm for private study stems from my Bar Manager, who has been an active Sommelier for a number of years. His passion and zest for wine was so prominent that I could not help but be drawn into the world of wine. The further I dive into this world, the more I continue to learn, grow, and appreciate everything that goes into each glass of wine.
I have been studying through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Moreover, with the guidance and support from my passionate instructors and mentors, I intend to continue my studies through the Wine Scholar Guild and obtain the Italian Wine Scholar (IWS) Certificate and the Spanish Wine Scholar (SWS) Certificate. Finally, I intend on becoming certified as a professional Sommelier. The French Wine Scholar (FWS) course has allowed me to get more in-depth knowledge of French wine. In particular, this educational experience has not only given me more confidence in the forthcoming continuation of my studies, but has also allowed me to assist my fellow coworkers who now look to me in expanding their knowledge of wine.
Receiving the French Wine Scholar (FWS) Certificate will greatly help to further my future employment endeavours, with the goal of becoming an active member in the wine industry.''
