Congrats to Michel Deschodt, FWS for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with honors!
''After spending most of my career as a marketing and sales consultant, I decided to transition my career to wine in 2014. I have been with Ridge Vineyards since April of 2015, where I am part of the tasting room team at Monte Bello. I ensure that our consumer customers experience excellence during their wine tastings and vineyard tours. I also host key industry visitors and work closely with the wholesale sales team to better serve the needs of key on-premise and off-premise accounts.
I have also taken the International Culinary Center’s prep class for Court of Master Sommelier’s Certified Sommelier exam (passed in December 2014). Previously, I obtained my WSET Level 3 certification.
The FWS gives me a globally recognized accreditation for the country that established the foundations for excellence in wine making that are followed in every major wine producing area around the globe.
I will be taking the WSET Level 3 later this year. I expect the FWS exam to give me a stronger understanding of the origins and processes of fine wine making.
This certification will help my career moving forward by providing me with a strong recognition as an expert in the evolution and traditions of fine wine making that have been adapted around the world.''
