About Atha:
I have always got a passion for wine. It started with my dad who was a massive Bordeaux lover. I then expanded my knowledge to France by discovering all the wine regions there. During the first lockdown, I discovered WSET programs thanks to my girlfriend who was studying level 2 and successfully passed it. As I was working from home, I looked for study programs to stay connected with people and gain knowledge on this field. I found that the Spanish Wine Scholar program was a perfect complement to my WSET studies. The in-depth knowledge and fun provided by this program were perfect to open my eyes on the beautiful history, gastronomy, and viticulture of this country.
I passed my level 3 of the WSET with distinction this year and have enrolled in the diploma that I will start in September in London. The SWS program is a perfect completement to the level 3, it provides a deep knowledge of the viticulture techniques and winemaking options available in Spain. I feel much more prepared on Spanish wines for the diploma than before.
Connecting history, gastronomy and viticulture gives you a broad knowledge of this wonderful country. SWS allows to connect the dots and understand how wine has been cultivated and developed there. Thanks to my program provider (West London Wine School), I discovered a new range of wines and styles, I do remember the surprise provided by the tasting of a Rueda Dorado.
