About Erin:
I got into wine (and olive oil) during my decade living in Madrid, and it’s there that I studied and became certified in both. I have worked a bit in the wine industry, doing marketing for wineries and even dabbling in winemaking and wine production at one of those wineries. My deepest passion, however, is for olive oil (and my olive oil company, PRMRY), which works out nicely since wine and olive oil have so much in common. My dream is to one day produce my own wine as well...hopefully in Spain ;)
I completed and passed the WSET 3 and found the SWS program to be extremely complementary. The SWS program reinforced all the knowledge I already had (without being redundant), and built on it extensively. It felt like the perfect progression of my studies.
Though I’ve done a sherry program in the past, I’m eager to also do the one that has just launched via the Wine Scholar Guild so that I may learn even more. I’m enjoying going deeper and deeper on all things Spanish wine.
I look forward to continuing to work in wine, and specifically Spanish wine (we will move back to Madrid in the coming year or so), so acquiring such a deep knowledge of everything related to the country’s wine has really helped to lay the groundwork for that.
