About Steven:
After many years in the Hospitality Industry at the Marriott International and a stint at L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, I found the world of wines to be both fascinating and lacked a proper understanding in general. Hence, I started my journey to learn as much as I could from some of the wine industry titans in Singapore. Today, I am managing a wine import/distribution company specializing in Spanish Wines focusing in creating more awareness on the unique terroirs and wine styles of Spain to as many wine consumers as possible. Convincing one drinker at a time on the superb quality vs price ratio about wines from Spain. I hope to witness the day where majority wine consumers are able to make educated and informed purchase decisions on their wines, live life a little better, bringing happiness to people around them.
My other certifications include the following: WSET Level III; Certified Specialist of Wines, Society of Wine Educators; French Wine Scholar, Wine Scholar Guild; International Kikisake-Shi, Sake Service Institute.
Are you currently enrolled or plan to enroll in other wine certification programs? If so, how has/do you expect the SWS program to complemented/contribute to your current/future wine studies? My next goal is the WSET Diploma with WSET London.
The SWS course is powerfully educational and engaging to my business. The materials covered in the course have propelled my love for Spanish wines beyond my expectations and certainly it will be the same for many more wine consumers in Singapore & Malaysia. Consequently with SWS, the information has strengthen my confidence to take on the Diploma.
Personally, I have benefitted immensely from the program. And it is not just academically but the SWS program also helped widen my wine circle even more with new faces, renewed positive energy and community building blocks.
