Wine Study Tours for Wine Educators

Wine Study Tours for Wine Educators

The Wine Scholar Guild study tours provide unique educational experiences for all wine educators.

Without a doubt, there is no better way to progress in your wine expertise than taking an immersive study trip and experiencing first-hand the world’s greatest wine regions. The Wine Scholar Guild study tours provide unique, educational experiences for all wine educators.

Continuing education is important when teaching about wine. As you know, there is always something new to learn! Traveling to a wine region allows you to stay abreast of the latest developments happening in the vineyards, which helps keep your teaching up-to-date and relevant!

To be an effective wine educator, it is important is to feel confident in the mastery of your subject. Wine is very complex, with many different facets to it. By walking in the vineyards, touring the winemaking facilities and participating in extensive professional tastings, you will gain new insights and expertise that will help renew your knowledge and boost your teaching confidence!

For example, when witnessing the chalk soils and cool climate of Champagne or the fragmented vineyard plots of Burgundy, the elusive yet fundamental concept of terroir is revealed, making it easier for you explain to your students.

Learn from winemakers at renowned estates

As wine educators, you know that your students love to hear anecdotes about colorful wine personalities. Meeting winemakers is a real highlight for our wine study tours participants. On previous trips, groups have met the winemakers at renowned estates such as Champagne Louis Roederer, Chateau Cheval Blanc in Bordeaux or Clos de Tart in Burgundy, just to name a few. These are unique and inspiring moments that you will want to share with your students when you return.

Producers visited during past study trips include:

Here is a quote from one of our former participants on meeting the winemaker at Château La Fleur-Pétrus :

“Favorite Chateau we visited was Château La Fleur-Pétrus. The passion that Christian Moueix demonstrated was so contagious that he really made us feel a part of the process. He gave us a firsthand account of the stages of grape growing in the vineyard and shared many details that one would only share with its employees. It was invaluable.”

    World-renowned wine instructors:

Our top-notch instructors, all experts in their fields, include award-winning Sommeliers, Masters of Wines, and famous wine writers. They provide professional-level instruction while on the trip and help you stay abreast of what is happening in the different wine regions by teaching about current trends and changes that are occurring there.
