About the 2024 Scholarships
WSG is awarding one fully-paid online enrollment in each of the following online programs: French Wine Scholar®, French Wine Essentials, Spanish Wine Scholar®, Spanish Wine Essentials.
New for 2024, Villa Bogdano 1880 is generously sponsoring one fully-paid online enrollment in the Italian Wine Scholar® and one Italian Wine Essentials enrollment, as well as a visit to their beautiful estate in Friuli, Italy, for the winners of these awards.

Who can Apply?
The scholarships are open to all committed students of wine including professionals and enthusiasts. Applicants must be of legal drinking age in both the United States (21 years or older) and in their country of residence. Applicants may apply to more than one scholarship, provided they submit a unique essay for each one. Previous winners of WSG scholarships are eligible to apply for programs they have not yet previously been awarded.

Deadline
All applications must be complete and submitted by June 15, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET.
Incomplete applications, or applications received after this deadline, will not be accepted.
Rules and Selection Process
Applicants may submit up to one application for each scholarship, provided a unique essay is submitted for each award. Previous winners of WSG Scholarships may apply for a different program than they were awarded in the past.
All essay submissions will be processed through an AI detector before being qualified.
Qualified applications and essays will then be reviewed by a committee and awardees will be selected based on the overall quality of essay and motivations of the applicant.
Announcement of Awardees
Winners will be notified via email starting on July 1, 2024, followed by a public announcement on WSG's social media channels. We reserve the right to withhold scholarship awards if the submissions do not meet our standards of merit and serious intent.
Selected essays may be published on the WSG blog with author's consent.
